Washington County Consolidated Communications Agency (WCCCA) is the second largest
9-1-1 center in Oregon. WCCCA provides 9-1-1 service and public safety communications for police, fire, and emergency medical service for the participating jurisdictions and for other governments under contract. We are a stand-alone unit of local government comprised of over 93 employee including over 60 dedicated 9-1-1 dispatchers. WCCCA is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. This is an exciting time to join WCCCA with a move to a state of the art building on the horizon (2021) and expansion of our radio system facility sites. This position plays an integral role in repairing and maintaining facilities and equipment throughout our service area. Note – this position could be filled at the Tech I or Tech II level, depending on the successful candidate’s experience.

Duties of this diverse position may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Repair, adjustment, and maintenance of commercial building systems, including plumbing, heating and cooling equipment, vehicles, radio site buildings/grounds/towers, electrical equipment and security systems; maintain water boilers, pumps motors, and fans; cut and replace pipes, replace belts, bearings, seals and related mechanical parts.
  • Operate a variety of tools and power equipment used in the maintenance shop for repair and maintenance of the facilities and related equipment and processes.
  • Perform regularly scheduled maintenance of buildings systems; change filters and belts, lubricate parts; patch and seal roofs.
  • Perform carpentry tasks; repair furniture, build cabinets, repair doors, perform minor remodeling.

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in the methods, tools and materials used within commercial building maintenance and repair.
  • Proficient in plumbing installation and repair; general carpentry; metal work.
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge in safety practices and accident prevention.
  • Demonstrated and verified experience, knowledge and abilities within industrial and or commercial facilities technologies, industrial building systems maintenance, and/or in building construction.
  • Must be willing to work on assigned on-call weekends and evenings.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license in the State of Oregon and have an acceptable driving record.

    WCCCA provides its employees with a full benefits package which includes excellent medical, dental and vision coverage covering the employee’s premium 100% and 96% of dependent premiums. Also provided is life insurance, long term disability and the option for short term disability insurance.

    We are a PERS employer. Most PERS eligible employees pay a 6% employee contribution, however; WCCCA “picks up” this 6% employee contribution for its PERS eligible employees. In addition to PERS, employees are invited to participate in the 457 Deferred Compensation Plan. This voluntary program allows you to save money and defer taxes until you take distribution at retirement. If enrolled in this plan, WCCCA will match 1% of your gross wages after a one year waiting period.

    In addition, WCCCA offers generous paid time off benefits such as vacation time, holiday leave and sick leave.
