CAD Services
CAD Services Overview & Background

Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) is the backbone of WCCCA’s 9-1-1 call-taking and emergency dispatch operations. Our CAD platform enables real-time communication, situational awareness, and coordinated response across dozens of public safety agencies throughout Washington County.
WCCCA provides full-service CAD support for law enforcement, fire, and EMS partners by combining expert operational knowledge with strong technical oversight. From the moment a call for service is received to the resolution of an incident in the field, CAD is the system that connects people, resources, and information.
In addition to supporting local operations, WCCCA helps maintain the larger, regionally shared CAD infrastructure in collaboration with other PSAPs, called the Metro Area Joint CAD System (MAJCS), ensuring service continuity and interoperability across neighboring jurisdictions.
WCCCA Dispatch Operations
Our trained Call-Takers and Dispatchers utilize the CAD system to:
- Create and process over 500,000 urgent and non-urgent incident-related records annually
- Accurately gather and document critical incident details in real time
- Dispatch and coordinate law enforcement, fire, and EMS resources
- Maintain situational awareness across multiple jurisdictions and disciplines
- Facilitate mutual aid requests between WCCCA-served agencies and regional partners
WCCCA dispatchers use an integrated CAD platform that allows for immediate information sharing, dynamic incident updates, and seamless communication with first responders across multiple systems and devices.

Regional Coordination
While WCCCA's primary focus is on serving Washington County, we also contribute to the broader regional dispatch ecosystem through strategic partnerships and shared infrastructure. Our team works closely with other 9-1-1 centers to maintain continuity of service and support mutual aid efforts throughout the metro area.
